Sunday School Teacher held and charged for murder of 8 year old girl

What would make a human being kill a helpless 8-year-old child and stuff her in a suitcase? The murder of a schoolgirl, Sandra Cantu of Tracy, California has remained baffling to police authorities even as they've apprehended the lone suspect, Melissa Huckaby, a Sunday School teacher.

I watched the report over Fox News last night and it really ripped my heart when they showed a CCTV camera capturing the child skipping on her way to Huckaby's house, apparently to play with the suspect's 5-year-old daughter. She was full of life. Who could have known that she was about to meet her gruesome end that day?

Police are still investigating the motives behind the murder while the suspect is being held without bail.

  1. I saw this on the news last night, and how horrible. They do not know the motive yet, but her 8 yr old daughter was the dead girls playmate. My son happened to hear the story, and I was going to post about this. We went all over about how some people do terrible things to children, and that is why we follow certain rules, for protection. He was very sad.

  4. Takes all sorts in this world of ours - we have equally horrific stuff going on. Last weekend a 21yr old was charged with assault on a 6 week old baby - every rib was broken twice and he had a broken leg and arm. He was let off due to extunating circumstances - baby cried alot.

    Go figure...!!

  5. It still is hard for me to take in that a acts like these could happen. I just hope that the true justice would really be served.

  6. She has a cruel face. I saw a face like that once before: totally ruthless. What breeds such evil? Usually, a smalll seed that grows and grows.

  7. These incidents will be enough for all of us to take care of our young ones. I have yet to get married and have children, but when I become a mom, I would impose certain limitations in terms of their interaction with other people.

I hope that this will get resolved soon. Poor girl!
